The Rainforest Youth Summit brings together young people, Indigenous knowledge holders, scientists, creatives and community leaders to explore the connections between people, culture and the natural world.
We joined RAYS 2026 as the local partner, working alongside Memories Entertainment, the event organiser, over eight months to bring local knowledge, cultural context and creative perspective to the programme and experience.
Much of our work happened in the months leading up to RAYS, through weekly conversations with the Memories team around its topics, programme and contributors. We helped curate artists and contributors, made recommendations, and provided consultation on creative and cultural assets, bringing local perspectives into the development of the summit.
When the summit came together in June, our role continued on the ground. As the local partner, we worked alongside the Memories team and event vendors throughout the programme, serving as the vendor PIC and helping coordinate the moving parts behind the scenes.

Being part of RAYS gave us an opportunity to contribute a local perspective to a wider regional conversation. From the early discussions around the programme to the people and ideas that came together in Kuching, we were glad to play a small part in bringing the summit to life.
